Frequently asked questions.

What should I expect at my first visit?

Initial Evaluations last for 1 hour including an evaluation and a treatment, depending on what your insurance allows. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your appointment to fill out initial paperwork. It is very important to wear comfortable loose fitting clothing that does not affect your range of motion and allows the therapist to access the area of your body being treated. This will ensure a thorough evaluation and allow the therapists to devise the most effective treatment plan.

What insurances do you accept?

Beyond Basics Rehabilitation is an in-network provider with Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shields, United Healthcare, Cigna, and Aetna. We are out-of-network providers for TUFTS and Tri-Care. It is the responsibility of the patient to verify their insurance before their first appointment. As a courtesy we will cross check all verifications but it is the patient’s responsibility to know their benefits.

Do I need a referral?

In the state of Rhode Island, you have direct access to a physical therapist. However, your insurance may require a referral, therefore it is your responsibility to contact your insurance company to determine if a referral is needed.

What is the cancelation policy?

We understand that sometimes life happens. We require a 24 hour notice for any cancellations. If you do not provide a 24 notice for any cancellations you will be charged for the missed appointment.

Will I have a copay?

All insurances are different, call the number on the back of your card to determine your financial responsibility. Insurance contracts require that copayments are paid at the time of the appointed service.

Are pets allowed at my appointment?

Service animals with proper paperwork are allowed at our facility.
